Vacancy National Recording Secretary
Updated On: May 18, 2018

Dear EWMC Sisters and Brothers,

The Electrical Workers Minority Caucus Executive Committee is announcing a vacancy on the executive committee. It is with regret we announce the resignation of EWMC Secretary, Tonya Alston, IBEW LU 1245 member. Sister Alston has served us well in going above and beyond her responsibilities as secretary. She will be sorely missed. We wish her well in her future endeavors.

In accordance with Article VII Section 10 of the National Operating Bylaws, as amended by the delegates at the 2018 National Conference, we are notifying all EWMC members of this vacancy. Please take note of the attachment to this notification. The applicable article and sections are listed. Interested EWMC members are encouraged to apply. Applications should include name and local union. It should also include when you became a member of the EWMC and any relevant skills, such as computer proficiencies. Previous experience should also be listed along with any references. Applications should be sent electronically (no later than 12:00 am PT June 16, 2018) to ‘?email address?’.

In addition, it should be taken into consideration that the responsibilities of an EWMC Executive Committee member can be very challenging. Currently executive committee members are charged with supporting assigned chapter(s) in addition to their other duties. This requires strong time management skills. Mandatory executive committee meetings are held at 11am ET on the third Saturday of each month. These meetings typically last about an hour and fifteen minutes. Please contact EWMC President Keith Edwards at lakesr49@msn.com if you have any questions.

In Solidarity ,

Tonya Alston , EWMC  National  Secretary
