EWMC was also known as the Black Caucus and the Minority Affairs Committee for brief periods of time.
As many of you know, the EWMC was officially founded in 1974, by a small group of primarily African American IBEW brothers and sisters who were delegates to the 30th International Convention in Kansas City, MO.
Electrical Workers Minority Caucus’ Mission
1. Promote equal opportunity and employment for minorities at all levels of the IBEW structure;
2. Foster leadership development and empower minorities to become active participants and leaders in the IBEW;
