Since our last report we've signed up 40 new members. That brings our total membership count to 40.
Activity has been moderate. We are seeing a influx of new visitors but the commitment to join/ participate is a continuing challenge
There was a call put out to all members to seek to get training for stewardship. Members attended the financial seminar and members attended the retirement seminar. We had members present in two locations at the code update seminar for continuing education credits towards licensing requirements.
We have continued to work with UCAP and APRI., We are in talks currently with EWWBNA(Electrical Workers Without Borders North America) the late Ed Hill's outreach and Building Goodness.org
We have a continued effort with our local representatives with a continued commitment to provide support.
We are currently in talks with MBEFF College & Career Academies to provide wrap around pre apprenticeship and post apprenticeship that includes mentorship
MBEFF College & Career Academies is in development of a middle school/charter school framework and the EWMC chapter is integrated in a vertical manor with the organization.
We have a commitment with our 4th district representative counterpart who sits on a board that's committed to 2nd chance opportunities for returning citizens.
EWMC 1st quarter day of service was held Saturday 3/30/24 8:00am-12:00pm in support of the cherry blossom festival for Washington DC we had members attend as well as support from ReNew, the retirees and the Motorcycle club as well as the JATC.
For Q1 a contingent of 13 members served in Atlanta with the National day of the service that coincided with the National EWMC convention.
We are having a EWMC Fish Fry Fundraiser On May the 18th
